Post name: Outdoor Early Years Practitioner, Venture Dartington
Minimum qualification: Early Years Level 3 qualification
Salary: Up to £22,710.15 FTE, dependent on qualifications and experience.
Location: Dartington Estate, Totnes
Working days: 2 days per week (Wednesday and Thursday) term times only (38 weeks per year)
Working hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Additional work may be required outside of these times to fulfil the obligations of the role. Opportunities exist for additional work at our school holiday camps during school holidays.
Start date: ASAP
Appointments will be offered for an initial probationary period of one school term.

Post name: Outdoor Holiday Camp Leader
Minimum qualification: Early Years Level 3 qualification
Wage: £200/day including holiday pay
Location: Your time will be split between Venture Kitley Farm, Yealmpton, PL8 2LT and Venture Dartington, Dartington Hall Estate, TQ9 6EG.
Working days: 54 days per year during Devon School Holiday periods:
29 days (6 weeks minus August Bank Holiday) during the summer holiday;
2 days during the Christmas holiday;
9 days (2 weeks minus Easter Monday) during the Easter holiday;
and 14 days during the half term holidays (3 weeks minus May Bank Holiday Monday).
For each of the above days, you will be leading at either Venture Kitley Farm or Venture Dartington.
Please note, for the right candidates, we would be happy for this position to be filled on a ‘job share’ basis.
Working hours: Camps run from 9am to 3pm. Additional time will be required to plan and prepare for camp, liaise with the team and to clear away afterwards.
Start date: ASAP.
Appointments will be offered for an initial probationary period, which will be agreed before commencement of the position. During this period your work performance and general suitability will be assessed and, if it is satisfactory, your employment will continue.

Minimum qualification: Early Years Level 3 qualification
Salary: Up to £24,541.35 FTE, dependent on qualifications and experience
Location: Dartington Estate, Totnes
Working days: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) term times only (38 weeks per year)
Working hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Additional work may be required outside of these times to fulfil the obligations of the role. Opportunities exist for additional work at our school holiday camps during school holidays.
Start date: February 2027
Appointments will be offered for an initial probationary period of one school term.

CPD The Wonder of Woodwork with Pete Morehouse | 19th April 2024
Learn how to safely introduce creative woodwork and enrich early years learning.
This practical workshop will look at ways in which woodworking can be safely introduced in your early years setting. We will look at the theory and the associated learning and development relating to the EYFS. We will examine the historical context and look at examples from other countries that have been working successfully with wood for many years. There will be explanations of the most suitable tools for children and instruction on how best to use them. We will look at the most suitable woods. Information on potential suppliers of wood/ tools will be provided. Explanations on how to set up a woodworking area. Suggestions for activities, open-ended explorations and longer term projects. There will be practical sessions for teachers to explore the tools, gain confidence and share the experience of making creations in wood.
From this course you will:

Understand the value and theory of woodwork especially in relation to the EYFS.

Learn about the historical context of woodwork

Understand the potential of woodwork for creativity and critical thinking

Learn how to introduce woodwork safely, implementing an effective risk assessment
